Close and personal with Jazz/pop Harmo-sexual David Morin

We told you 2015 would be the year of R&B and David is here to prove this -we catch up with Singer David Morin for a quick Q & A.

 

1.Who is David Morin? (three words only)
Alien, Beatnik, Harmosexual. I made the last word up, but it is defined as someone sexually attracted to harmonies.

2.Your music has been described as Jazz-pop meets old school R&B  –  would you agree with this?
It is true that I have taken from those influences, but it would be easy to describe my music with many different strokes of the pen: hip-hop, soul, pop, singer-songwriter to name a few, but  I like to some it up as “feel good” music.

 

  1. If you could work with any Singer/Producer or band in the industry currently who would it be and why?

I would love to work with Kaytranada. I’m just loving his production and it would satisfy the electronic part of my soul.

  1. Who are you listening to right now?

I’m listening to D’Angelo ‘s new record, James Blake, Lianne La Havas, Mos Def and Hiatus Kaiyote.

  1. Pick two Celebrities to be your parents – Who?

Björk and Prince.

 

  1. Rate yourself(s) on a scale of 1-10?

I range from 1-10 all the time. So, I would pick 10 because it encompasses all the digits and because if I can’t give myself a 10 how can I expect anyone else to?

 

  1. What’s your favourite movie of all time?

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

 

  1. If Hollywood made a movie about your life who would you like to see play the lead role as you?

Jaden Smith.

 

  1. If you could trade places with another person for a week- famous or non famous/living or dead / real or fictional who would it be?

I would like to trade places with Jay Z because obviously,Beyoncé.

 

 

10. New York or London?

New York doesn’t call to my heart the way London does. Plus they have Ricky Gervais.

11. Longest time you’ve gone without- A shower/brushing your teeth/ any gigs/events planned for this / next year

I was lost in the woods for five days, so showering was impossible and I lost my toothbrush in a ravine. I am excited to perform at South By South West (SXSW).
