Singer Frankie Bird chats Taylor Swift, and inspiration Stevie Nicks

Singer ‘Frankie Bird’ is a name you will be hearing a lot in 2024. Frankie chats all things music in our exclusive interview.

1.Who is Frankie Bird in Three Words only?

A free spirit.

2. What top 5 tracks would we find on your Spotify or iTunes playlist?

Silver Springs by Fleetwood Mac, Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell, Hand In My Pocket by Alanis Morisette, If It Makes You Happy by Sheryl Crow, and August by Taylor Swift.

3. We love your track ‘Miss You Love You’ tell us a bit about that track?

Miss You Love You is a song about a love that’s long passed and wanting to call the person to tell them you miss them but always talking yourself out of it. It’s about reminiscing on your time together and wondering if the other person ever does too. A nostalgic love story.

4. You have toured the US with acts like Troye Sivan, Dua Lipa, Charlie Puth, Daya, and was featured on Taylor Swift’s “Songs That Will Make Your Life More Awesome” playlist- how does that feel?

I feel so fortunate to have been in the same room as these talented people and to have had the chance to study them as performers. Taylor is one of my idols so getting a stamp of approval from her has always been one of my biggest dreams come true. I still can’t believe that happened!

5. Who are your musical inspirations?

I love female singer songwriters mainly from the 70’s and 90’s. Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, Alanis Morisette, Sheryl Crow, Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch, Taylor Swift, the list goes on…I’m so inspired listening to the stories of these powerhouse women and how they navigate through life.

6. What embarrassing songs might we find on your Spotify?

Not sure if it’s embarrassing, some might say iconic, but every now and then I go down an early 2000’s Disney kid rabbit hole and listen to Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, and all those nostalgic artists from my childhood.

7. Who would be your dream collaboration?

My dream collaboration would probably be Taylor Swift mainly because I’d love to see how she works in the studio and watch how her genius brain crafts songs. I wouldn’t even care if anything was ever released, I would just love to see how she creates.

8. What hidden talent(s) do you have?

Not sure about hidden talents but maybe people would be surprised to know that I take improv classes.

9. Describe your style to us?

I’ve always been a tomboy so comfort is usually number one for me! I rarely wear heels or a dress and go for sneakers and jeans more. Don’t get me wrong, I still love getting dressed up but I stay in my lane of what I know. More funky street style then glam.

10. Finally – what have you got lined up for 2024?

I’m releasing my debut album this year which I’m so so excited about! I’ve been working on it for the past 2 years and am itching to get it out. It’s a concept album all about the high highs and low lows of my twenties and the journey I had to take throughout that decade to get to this new sound, chapter and name with my music. If you’ve connected to the last 5 releases from this project then you’re in for a treat with the full picture!
