‘EXIT Festival’ Five amazing days and nights in Serbia

After five amazing days and nights in Serbian city of Novi Sad, Exit Festival 2017
has ended. From 5 to 9 July, over 215,000 people from over 60 countries entered through
the festival gates on the magnificent and colossal Petrovaradin fortress, making it an
official record for the festival.
The 17th edition of the award-winning festival in Serbia will be remembered for
several milestones, such as “Day 0” with The Killers headlining the Main Stage and No
Sleep takeover of the new spectacular version of the iconic Dance Arena.

The opening ceremony was followed by stunning firework and an emotional speech
of the Standing Rock Water Protectors from the Sioux reservation in North Dakota, who
have become a global symbol of the environment protection, while the words of one of the
greatest speakers of our time Nick Vujicic inspired people to never give up on their
dreams. To honor its own roots in social activism, EXIT celebrated 50 years of Summer of
Love which gave birth to revolutionary hippie movement that changed the world forever by
promoting peace, love and human rights.
To mark this important anniversary, the finale of the EXIT’s opening ceremony included more than 30 actors on stage singing key songs from the musical “Hair”.

Spectacular end-up of this year’s festival overmatched all the 15 year of MTS
Dance Arena existence when Nina Kraviz who won ovations we could see only on
concerts of the biggest rock stars! Irish singer RĂłisĂn Murphy, who came back to the
festival after 14 years, gave her contribution to the great finale by changing costumes,
presenting new songs and waving teddy bear in the sign of peace.
After he came a day earlier and surprised everybody by his appearance on the
stage with Foreign Beggars, Rag’n’Bone Man made a great atmosphere in front of more
than 42,000 of people. Additionally, the great party was continued by one of the world’s
best DJs – Hardwell!

How amazing this year’s Exit festival is going to be was clear at “Day 0” when The
Killers brought all the glamor of Las Vegas and their most famous hits to the fortress. That
was confirmed the next evening when Liam Gallagher started to sing hits such as
“Wanderwall” and the crowd went mad! Solomon and Dixon didn’t want to leave the
fortress, so they brought thousands of fans to the afterparty where they were dancing until
1am.
With its 20 music stages and 23 more zones, EXIT festival also featured the likes of
Years & Years, Jason Derulo, Jesus and the Mary Chain, Jake Bugg, Paul Kalkbrenner,
Duke Dumont, Alan Walker, Jeff Mills, Jamie Jones, Ellen Allien, The Damned, Princess
Nokia, Noisia, Lost Frequencies, Red Axes, Bjarki, Discharge, Vatican Shadow, and
hundreds more all over the trenches of the incredible Petrovaradin fortress.
