Front row with SONGZIO at London Fashion Week Men’s: What you need to be wearing SS18

South Korean designer Songzio was the one to watch at this years SS18 London Fashion Week (Mens), we were lucky enough to get front row invites to his show. SONGZIO’s SS18 collection was entitled “Crossing Veils” and was inspired by the phrase: ‘Man, in his night, searches for his own light’.

The colour pallet was classically bland and white with contrast royal blues, orange, yellows and were inspired by two portrait paintings by Velasquez.

Each collection began with SONGZIO’s visualisation of his ideas on canvas using oil paints, creating his brand signature crossing strokes.

We interview Songzio on the inspiration behind his SS18 collection below:

His collection was dramatic and bold yet still somehow managing to stay balanced.  His delicate artwork featured shawl collar tailored suits, shirts and t shirts showcasing watercolor painting detail.

He also showcased straight cut trousers with side fringe detailing and for this season especially SONGZIO designed two pieces of footwear including derby’’s embellished  with metal studs and sandals.

SONGZIO showcased once again an array of exciting new pieces that any trendsetter would love to get there hands on!!.

THE STYLE: Tailor fitted jackets against loose, youthful inner wear completed with straight cut trousers

We also caught up with YouTube celebrity Jim Chapman backstage, on all things fashion and style.
