Singer Alexandra Burke releases new music without Record Label #Renegade

Alexandra Burke born into sound literally as her mother (Melissa Bell) was lead singer of 80’s group Soul II Soul. 2008 seems an age away now but that was when Alexandra won X factor under the stewardship of a one Miss Cheryl Cole aka Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

Fast forward to present day and Miss Burke is yet to really break through musically in my opinion. Although her Net worth is to be admired from afar. But does that make you a star with the masses?

Her latest offering Renegade begins with a guitar riff which gives such promise of what may come. For me she doesn’t disappoint in her first words ‘missiles rain down on me, I take em all’. Which paints a picture of the kind of scrutiny and pressure not to mention personal attacks she had to cope with during the early stages of her career.

Miss Burkes voice definitely moves me as she sings in a somewhat new style. Combining a gravelly and sultry rich texture ‘I’m all alone in this war, but I’m at peace with my flaws’. Renegade / outlaw indeed as she looks on in a somber but realistic way at the music industry.

The mood turns triumphant when the chorus kicks in. It’s all goes up a few notches as the synths come in and we go all upbeat the melody is as defiant as name of the track.

This is a good attempt to be different and show another side to her. You can definitely feel the steady evolution of a young woman really coming to terms with the culture and the nature of the music business.

On this new track ‘Renegade’ Alexandra Burke shows she’s a fighter who realises her flaws. This is not the best track I’ve heard but it certainly has spirit.
