Charlie Puth produces his own music, and his latest single ‘Done For Me’, was inspired by an ‘unsuccessful party’ he tells Beats Radio. The beat came around when Charlie was playing some chords and instantly came up with a beat. He says he instantly thought of Kehlani to feature on his track, and both of their soothing voices gel nicely on the track.
Putting a 1980’s ‘Wham!’ vibe to the track, as he describes, Charlie has infused today’s pop/soul elements and created a rich 80’s melody which is bound to be a hit just as much as his previous singles.
‘Done For Me’ follows Charlie’s single’s ‘Attention’ and ‘How Long’ and acts as a form of apology between the man and woman Charlie sings about. Charlie’s self-produced album ‘Voicenotes’ is due for release on May 11th.
