Ms. Lauryn Hill brings Diaspora Calling! to Milton Keynes for its landmark UK debut on Friday 7 August. Here is the confirmed lineup, opening times, travel information and what festivalgoers need to know.
Diaspora Calling 2026 arrives at the Milton Keynes National Bowl this Friday, bringing together a cross-generational lineup spanning hip-hop, R&B, soul, reggae, Afrobeats and grime.
Presented and curated by Ms. Lauryn Hill, the festival’s UK debut will feature Hill reuniting with Wyclef Jean for a special performance celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Fugees’ landmark album The Score.
Erykah Badu, Giggs, Fireboy DML, YG Marley and Zion Marley are also confirmed, with Dave Chappelle hosting the event.
Beyond its headline performances, Diaspora Calling has been conceived as a wider celebration of African diasporic music, art, culture and connection, with a film festival and cultural marketplace running alongside the music.

Why Diaspora Calling 2026 matters
Diaspora Calling was originally conceived by Ms. Lauryn Hill in 2016 as a music and arts platform celebrating the creativity, culture and shared histories of the African diaspora.
Its first UK edition connects influential artists with a younger generation of performers shaping Black music internationally. At its centre is the reunion of Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean to celebrate 30 years of The Score, the 1996 album that fused hip-hop, soul, reggae and R&B while becoming one of the defining records of its era.
The appearance is also currently billed as Ms. Lauryn Hill’s only confirmed UK performance of 2026, making the event one of the year’s most significant live dates for fans of her music.

What time does Diaspora Calling 2026 start?
The event website currently lists gates, the Film Festival and Marketplace from 12pm, with music beginning at 4pm. Last entry is listed as 8pm, and the event is scheduled to finish at 11pm.
However, separate Gig-Goers and Travel Guides issued by the organisers describe 4pm as “doors open/music starts.” It has not yet been made clear whether every general-admission ticket holder can enter from 12pm or whether the earlier opening relates specifically to the daytime programme.

How to get to Diaspora Calling 2026
By train and on foot
Milton Keynes Central is the nearest railway station. From there, the National Bowl is approximately a 20–25-minute walk using the signed Redway pedestrian and cycle route.
Follow Leisure Route 51 towards the venue and approach through the North Gate on Chaffron Way. Different What3Words references have appeared across the organiser’s travel materials, so follow the latest festival signage and steward instructions rather than relying entirely on a previously saved location pin.
Check return services through National Rail and save tickets to your phone before travelling, as mobile signal may be slower when large crowds leave the venue.
Shuttle buses
Guidance emailed to attendees on 30 July listed shuttle buses from Milton Keynes Centre to the National Bowl between 3pm and 8pm, with return journeys operating between 8pm and midnight. The stated pick-up point is a short walk from Milton Keynes Central near postcode MK9 1EA. Return shuttle tickets were advertised at £5 plus a booking fee, with limited availability on the day. Driving, parking and taxis
Official on-site parking must be booked in advance and availability is limited. Overnight parking is not permitted, and vehicles must be removed after the event.
Licensed taxis should use the designated area at Chesney Wold, while private-hire vehicles and lifts from friends or family should use Kelvin Drive. Avoid arranging collection directly outside the festival entrance, where road closures and heavy traffic are expected.
What can you bring to Diaspora Calling?
Bags must be no larger than A4 size, approximately 30cm × 21cm × 15cm.
Festivalgoers should bring:
- A downloaded ticket and valid identification
- A charged phone and portable power bank
- An empty plastic refillable bottle no larger than 500ml
- A payment card or contactless payment method
- Non-aerosol sunscreen
- Comfortable footwear and a light waterproof layer
Free drinking-water refill stations will be available around the site. Although the event website currently says sealed water up to 500ml is also permitted, the emailed guide advises bringing bottles empty, making an empty non-metal bottle the safest option.
Professional cameras with detachable lenses, tripods, camera rigs, audio-recording equipment and drones are prohibited unless specific equipment permission has been issued by the organisers.
Alcohol, outside food and drink, glass or metal bottles, illegal substances, weapons, fireworks, flares, laser pens and oversized bags are also prohibited. Check the complete list on the official website before setting off.

Diaspora Calling has been presented as a music and arts festival rather than only a sequence of headline performances.
The event website lists a Film Festival and Marketplace from 12pm, with independent traders, food businesses, artists and cultural organisations expected across the site. Detailed screening and daytime programme times had not been released when this article was updated.
