Distract FILM💯 Our 1 to Watch:: Batman Vs Superman: blowing SH*T up from start to finish

Some may walk away from this flick depressed and suicidal such was the expectancy of this humongous feature. Batman VS frigging Superman!! First off it’s a more than decent popcorn movie with shit blowing up from start to finish. The lack of emotional depth and character insight is disappointing you just want more. If you like Man of Steel (2013)  you will like this movie. Exceptional CGI that if watched in 3D is simply mesmerising one particular car chase scene involving Batman going after Lex Luger stolen stash of kryptonite stands out.

Although the third and final trailer does its best to sell you the movie but only acts as a perceived flick give away. There are in fact a few surprises that you never saw coming until you read this. It feels like this movie is acting as a set up for the vast DC universe which will soon be upon us. The worst thing I can say that it’s not great. Perhaps the expectation of two of the greatest hero’s is the reason for this movie being decidedly average.

Ben Affleck  turns in a solid performance as Batman and does what he can to salvage the role that’s feels grossly under written.

Batman-v-Superman

We see the Gotham manor in ruins along with his suit that’s been spray painted by Joker. They allude to Batman’s mental state but if you just turn up watching Batman in this movie you will be bloody confused. They re-tread the murder scene with his parents and also him falling down the well to be greeted by a swarm of bats. This has been seen time and time again, I would have loved a different angle on his journey of the caped crusader. Batman is in different part of his life. A changed man who’s not afraid to kill and does not give a damn about keeping the death count down. So why not get all psychological on us? That’s what we really want, we can take it.

Superman oh Superman give us some sort of soul make us laugh, make us cry. Henry Cavill looks incredible on the eye but just feels so wooden most of the time. Is it the script or is it the Actor? A bit of both it seems. Gal Gadot AKA Wonder woman seems to just show up in the movie without any real genuine screen time, a minute here a minute there then Boom she’s part of the gang. Feels like this movie is trying to do a bit too much.  As I alluded to earlier this movie is really the set up for the Justice League.

Doomsday one of the most Iconic villains is broken off a serious slice of disrespect as its shoehorned into the picture for the epic fight scene at the end. They definitely missed a trick in not giving DD the solid build up it deserved. The film does have a massive significant emotional moment which you just don’t see coming at all. Tissues at the ready. I don’t wish to spoil it but let’s say it gives realistic slant to this movie.

The failure to walk the successful path trodden by Marvel in slowly introducing us to the characters of their Universe has been surprising. We got to love the likes of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor etc. before they were shoehorned in to make up the Avengers which has by and large been a huge success. DC on the other hand has thrown Wonder Woman into arguably the most eagerly anticipated superhero movie without any game time at all. The equivalent of throwing a rookie into the big time with no proof they can come up with the goods. The result is a humourless trio with zero

connectivity, certainly not a team like individuals thrown together with no chemistry a blind date if you like.

Jessie Eisenberg, absolutely love the fella a majestic young actor with such ability but sadly unconvincing as Lex Luthor. The biggest insult and I’m not trying to be insulting here is that he comes across all Jim Carey Jokerish when he’s supposed to be LL. I get it they wanted a new slant on the villain but they simply went down the wrong road and crashed into a new build.

It’s not terrible and there are some amazing action sequences but the lack of character development makes a possibly good movie average. We wanted the feeling of the Dark Knight with Superman added. Wonder Woman is striking in her looks but we know nothing of her and that’s disappointing.

Don’t fight the queues to see this hang tight and catch it on Amazon.
