What I love about Rick Ross is that he sticks to his script (Money,Cash,Hoes) in that particular order. On this collaboration with R’Kelly featuring cameo appearances from a host of Rap elite stars and Prodigy from Mobb Deep I must check they’ve some stuff worth listening to (note to self.
Reinventing the wheel he is not on this collaboration.
Directed by Dre Films @DREflims there first shot is a birds eye view of Ross’s palace / mansion where the action takes place. His untouchable Maybach Empire majestically personified.
‘She stares at her friends and all these bitches look bad’ Ross raps encapsulated in the next shot which displays the array of beautiful women who play a prominent eye catching role in this mini extravaganza.
‘Dope boy still at large, Tracking Devise on the care, tattoos on the arm, double MM diamond charm’ his words followed by a shot of brazenly throwing dollars in the sky shadowed by a mean looking DJ Khaled and entourage, in the first of many cameos. Smoke fills the air as a bunch of sensual white bikini clad black beauties gyrate to ross’s emphatic rhymes. Just before the verse comes to a close jermane Dupri makes an appearance not looking to dissimilar to when he popped up in the scene in 1998 such an influence to the likes of ‘Da Brat, Usher and Kris Kross.
Things are really bouncing and I’m not talking strictly about the beat. Second verse is all about R’Kelly as he comes into his own as he sings ‘she reminds me of something, ‘That shit ain’t my jeep’ ‘matching bougatti’s, ‘designer sheets when we freak’.
R Kelly is quite simply flawless with his delivery musically than man can do no wrong in my book, it’s like 1995 all over again. Queue the next cameo which comes in the form of a mega gold chained Prodigy from Mobb Deep for ya’ll who don’t know, rocking a presidential goatee throwing up menacing gang signs.
For me the boy Kells is definitely back in business if this joint is anything to go by.
Third and final verse, the scene is a
Prestigious ballroom. Ross looks like the Don he portrays to be. The man in the middle he is flanked either side by a super slick Kelly and wait for it…. Another superstar rap cameo, this time Young Jeezy standing out in dark shades and a white T-shirt. Jeezy smiling ear to ear as Ross drops verse after verse of utter bravado & brashness. I forgot to mention Ross is Decked out in a ludicrously expensive red fur and Matching hat.. His gansta gives him the edge to pull off such attire.
As you can imagine a who’s who of the finest models in american urban / black culture fill the expensive looking ball room. All high ceilings and eye catching chandeliers. Just enough time for cameo number six. This comes in the form of uber cool TI, one of the most underrated lyricists in my opinion (eagerly awaiting his next project).
The melodic piano loop is complimented by a get money 808 drum kick. This is a perfect strip club number and I’ll put a bet with anyone out there that this will be on most clubs playlists after all the title is ‘ Keep Doin’ That (Rich Bitch).
