Stefflon Don Secure Distract

Stefflon Don: ‘Secure’ Concert Review

On the final leg of her Secure Tour a fitting way to end it would be in London where rapper Stefflon Don has amassed quite an emphatic following; the Apollo Eventim in Hammersmith was the venue. The multi-talented singer-songwriter who toes in several genres but has both feet firmly in Hip-hop, provided a sumptuous closing show with the wonderful support of her back up dancers.

Stefflon Don hit the stage in a boss chick fashion with song Lil Bitch, the intro track on her album Secure. Dressed in a purple body suit and classic beach hat, Steff exuded power and controlled the audience with her rhythmic chants and excited gyrations. She whipped through tracks like Pretty Girl, bringing out music artist Tiggs Da Author to join her on stage.

Rapper Chip was next to hit the stage on the track My Girl which also features Red Rat. 16 shots carried its menacing bad gal gravity as it rang out in the arena whipping the crowd into a frenzy. Steff did her version of Wiley’s Boasty which she also features in. It was received with gleeful rapture from the crowd as she brought out the 10 year old boy who takes Wiley’s place. The young boy went onto dominate the stage and put on a performance like a seasoned vet.

Surely the best moment of the concert was when she brought out rap icon Lil Kim to All About The Benjamins. Steff serenaded Lil Kim with love and respect for influencing Steff, through music she created in the late 90’ and early 00’s.

A star is rising in the form of Stefflon Don and she’s more than Secure on her tour.
