Billie Eilish drops new song “Everything I Wanted” in tribute to Brother, Finneas
This song is so fresh, so honest, so vulnerable! We simply adore “Everything I Wanted” and it may be our go-to track of 2019. Billie Eilish is back again with this banger, just only eight months after her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?. The lyrics “I tried to scream / But my head was underwater … ’Cause everybody wants something from me now / And I don’t wanna let ’em down,” she sings on the Finneas O’Connell produced track.
“Everything I Wanted” is pretty much a song about Eilish and her relationship with brother, Finneas O’Connell.
“We started writing it because I literally had a dream that I killed myself and nobody cared and all of my best friends and people that I worked with basically came out in public and said, like, ‘Oh, we never liked her.’” So what happens when you get everything you want, and you’re still not happy? Would you do it all over again? These are the questions Eilish finds herself asking, and while there’s no turning back time, she finds a lifeline through her brother.
We love how personal Billie gets in her
music. It makes it so easy to relate to her when she is just being real and
telling people how she feels.
