Alright, so I come across a song called Cares by Willow Smith (I’m asked to review it by my boss). My initial thought was there’s not much going on here. The production is minimal (only drums are used). Her voice has not been doctored at all and you could find some flaws in it as most people will (Your prerogative no judge here).
This track is on one scale inventive with its simplistic production stripping away any supposed hype to the core and enable her to just breathe on it.
The tragedy is that for one so young she’s already aware of the media savages almost waiting for her to fail. . I think that’s what this song’s about.
I love the fact that Willow taken the risk of showing her vocals are not perhaps as crisp as she could have portrayed. For me its courage personified and with the empire her mother & father have built she need not care.
