Distract presenter, Daisy chats to rising R&B Singer Jordan King and Norwegian producer Wndr. Jordan King shook up the UK R&B scene in 2016 with his debut EP ‘The Night Shift’, described as an “R&B nugget of gold” by MTV’s The Wrap UP. King has begun to build a solid following in the UK, US, and now Europe after his first sold out international tour in the Netherlands in May. His silky smooth vocals coupled with WNDR’s rock solid production make ‘Let It Out’ an instant House classic.
He’s joined by electro producer WNDR. The two met initially on soundcloud and have since collaborated on track ‘Let It Out’.
The new single, ‘Let It Out’, further showcases WNDR’s production prowess, following the release of his previous tracks ‘Human’ and ‘Medicine’ (the latter having achieved over 3.85 million streams on Spotify).
Jordan counts Usher as his dream collaboration and WNDR as his nightmare collaboration …will another collaboration happen in 2018? We will have to watch & see!
Already known as ‘the producer’s producer’, WNDR is far from a regular up-and-coming electronic artist. At just 26, he’s already got a decade of solid production work under his belt, and the last two years have seen him carving his own niche in the Norwegian club scene – from heavy 808 drum patterns and intuitive bass lines, to his unique chord progressions and instantly memorable top lines. Fellow musicians and producers already hold his artisanship in high regard; but you do not need to be a music ‘geek’ to recognise the skill in his craft.
WNDR said: “‘Let It Out’ is me showing off my style as the versatile genre bending club music producer I am. Think of urban hard hitting affiliations, meets 4-to-the-floor club music”
For those who grew up with him there is no surprise WNDR turned out to be a musician. He had spent 10,000 hours in front of his DJ set-up before he had turned 13. Before high school was over, he had spent an additional 10,000 hours on music production. Labelled a serious talent early on, he could very well have been a household name by now, but WNDR has stuck to his own vision, creating music solely on his own premises.
