Bilbao BBK Live 2018 opened in style with performances from Florence & The Machine, Childish Gambino, Alt-J, Gaz Coombes, Mount Kimbie, Bad Gyal, Modeselektor and many more.
Last night we saw Childish Gambino rock the main stage and we can tell you he did not disappoint!
Entering the stage open shirt, white linen giving a nod to 1970’s the crowd went instantly crazy.
Having released three fantastic and ambitious hip-hop/funk/soul LPs, the also actor Donald Glover(‘Community’, ‘Atlanta’, and forthcoming, Star Wars) star had an array of tracks to to kick the show of with.
Gambino of course opened up with ‘Awaken My Love’, quickly moving onto bangers such as ‘Boogie Man’, ‘Red bone’ and new track ‘Feels Like Summer’ which he performed live for the first time since its release. He also played his classics including ‘3005’.
Donald’s energy on stage was out of this world! This guy can simply do no wrong, electrifying dance moves and vocals channeling Michael Jackson and James Brown he simply had the crowd in the palm of his hands.
The crowd of course lost there S**t when closed with ‘This Is America’. This show could potentially be one to go down in the history books! Could we be witnessing the rise of a new superstar? Quite possibly!
Acts including The xx, Gorillaz, The Chemical Brothers, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and My Bloody Valentine also beefed up the already epic Bilbao lineup. Bilbao is a city in northern Spain, the largest city in the province of Biscay and in the Basque Country as a whole surrounded by green mountains and curvy, titanium-clad buildings.
