Katherine Hooker shows us how to rock a Hat while playing Polo!!!!

Only a quick train ride away from Grand Central Terminal in NYC, one of the most important polo clubs the world. Greenwich Polo Club welcomed us for a very special Sunday, The Butler Handicap where White Birch won over Northwood 11 to 9.

As many of Manhattan’s fashionable and elite arrive by Uber, we were able to see why these polo Sundays are a huge draw. It’s a green escape from the concrete of NY coupled with the amazing sport of polo. One of the main events of the day was the Katherine Hooker hat day contest. The famous British designer, notably worn by Kate Middleton, was present with a pop-up shop as well as the sponsor of the contest. Hats ranged from elegant cowboy style hats to towering wide-brimmed ones, all much needed to endure the scorching heat of the Connecticut sun. The winner (pic below) took the prize because of its elegance and simplicity both of which are cornerstones of Hooker’s collections.

The main theme of the day was floral, long, and flowy. Ladies from NY were tired of work attire and wanted to dawn sundresses and and enjoy a relaxing Sunday.

As NYFW S/S 2017 approaches we are sure to see these styles on the runway.

If you are in NYC on Sundays between Aug 28th and September 11th, we highly recommend this amazing event. The regulars are beyond friendly and love to talk polo, fashion, and food.  The typical snobbish factor is never felt and everyone is picnicking, relaxing, and enjoying this amazing sport.
