Enigmatic Melbourne-based electronic solo artist / producer LIFE IS BETTER BLONDE returns with a blissed-out, glitchy cover of Frank Ocean’s Swim Good. The triple j award winning artist is set to release his debut EP in 2017 via Create/Control.

LIFE IS BETTER BLONDE puts his own unique spin on Swim Good with his signature slick production, soulful vocal tones, smooth synths, weeping piano and pulsing beats. The track premiered via tastemaker site High Clouds who declared “He was celebrating the benefits of being blonde before Frank Ocean and his last album “Blonde”. Today, by covering the American artist, he comes full circle! The track is a perfect demonstration of his production and vocal skills. The emotional piano and the well-polished electronic casing remind us of James Blake, with a warmful and soulful touch.”

The product of lost and re-discovered voice memos, late-night musings and discarded production scraps, LIFE IS BETTER BLONDE appeared suddenly in 2015 with the supremely glitchy contemporary R&B single ‘Mine’, accompanied by a fittingly bizarre music video in which a Japanese salaryman moonlights as an electric organ-player at an American-themed bar in Tokyo.

Perhaps unsurprisingly this flamboyant entrance to the scene did not go unnoticed by some of the most influential ears in Australian music, picking up a triple j award for video clip of the year.
