This week’s round-up of freshest music releases carry a collaborative theme running throughout, as each song includes features from a range of expected and unexpected artists.
1. Megan Thee Stallion ft Young Thug – Don’t Stop
Megan enlists Young Thug on her new electro-heavy single. The video is inspired by Alice In Wonderland and takes the psychedelics to another level. Along with the new track, Megan announced her new album is expected to drop before we ring in the new year. Don’t Stop is one of Megan’s few releases this year, with her feature on Cardi B’s track WAP, and her single Savage (remix) ft Beyonce as its predecessors.
2. Jorja Smith ft Popcaan – Come Over
UK artist Jorja Smith teams up with Jamaican artist, Popcaan, for a Dancehall-R&B inspired track. Jorja’s vocals are uplifted by an upbeat bassline, produced by IZAÏAH & MadisonLST.
“Come Over” is an upbeat and empowering single, inspired by “that unsure feeling when you’re talking to someone and you can’t tell how much they’re into you and you’re chasing them when – really – it can be straight up and no one should be playing games.” Smith states.
The song is accompanied by an anime inspired music video.
3. Gorillaz ft Elton John & 6LACK – The Pink Phantom
A collaboration we would have never guessed but here it is, as singer-rapper 6LACK & singer Elton John, join the Gorillaz on their new single. Gorillaz new project, Song Machine: Season One – Strange Timez will release 23rd October.
4. 21 Savage x Metro Boomin ft Drake – Mr. Right Now
Four years after their first joint album, Savage Mode, 21 Savage and Metro Boomin have released the sequel, Savage Mode II. The new album carries features from Drake, Young Thug, and Young Nudy, with actor Morgan Freeman, narrating the record. Listen to the lead single off of their album below.
5. Bryson Tiller ft Drake – Outta Time
Contemporary R&B Singer-Songwriter, Bryson Tiller, releases his third studio album A N N I V E R S A R Y, along with a new lead single featuring Drake.
6. Dua Lipa ft DaBaby – Levitating
The unexpected music collaborations continue as Dua Lipa taps DaBaby for the latest single off her second studio album, Future Nostalgia.
