Q. So to KICK it all off who is Tom Walker? in three words only…
 Northern – Singer – Beanie

Â
Q. You have just received two Brit nominations for ‘Best British Breakthrough’ and ‘Best Single’, how does that feel and have you prepared your winning speech?
Itâs mental – couldnât believe it when I found out TWO BRIT AWARDS!!!!! British Breakthrough is public voted and Iâve been getting messages from fans saying theyâve votes which is so sick!
Â
Q. Your chart-topping track ‘Leave A Light On’ was a huge top 10 smash hit, amassing over 90 million Youtube views to date- how does that feel?
I wrote that song nearly 3 years ago and it was so personal to me so the fact the song has had so much success and also help out so many people going through a tough time is all a little surreal still.
Â
Â
Q. So here at Distract we always want to get to the nitty gritty when it comes to our Fav artists! Your sound is very husky and cool but who were your inspirations growing up? Are there any surprises?
My dad brought me up and such a variety of different music from AC/DC to The Police to Bob Marley, so itâs an absolute mash of a load of amazing artists that has inspired my sound. We also went to so many gigs together at the MEN Arena in Manchester so music always played a massive role in my upbringing.
Â
Q. Who are you listening to right now?
Iâm really digging Alice Mertons new album, sheâs sick. Iâve also been listening to a lot of old Paolo Nuttini, I love Paolo and have done for years but Iâm going through a stage where heâs being played a lot.
Â
Â
Q. If you could work with any other Producer/ Rapper/ Singer on a record who would it be and why?Â
Paolo no doubt! If youâre reading this Paolo – I will cancel anything, anytime, just drop me a call.Â
Â
Q. Tell us About the track ‘Just You and I’ whats the song about?
The song is about my fiancee Annie. I wrote it not long after we got together and I was living in London and she was up North. We were doing the whole long distance thing. Neither of us had any money and it was really hard at times, but every struggling moment of it was worth it when we did finally get to spend time together.
