It’s time to introduce to you London-based artist Ashleigh Bankx. She’s the latest singer to emerge from the UK’s resurgent soul/R&B scene, and she’s making a huge statement at the top of the year with the release of “Angel”. We grabbed the singer for an exclusive 1 on 1 chat.

Q.Who did you grow up listening to and what are you listening to right now?
I grew up listening to Beyoncé, Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Lauryn Hill.
Right now, I am still listening to the same artists plus myself.
Q. If you could work with any other Producer/ Rapper/ Singer on a record who would it be and why?
Pharrell Williams because of his songwriting skills, his wit, his creativity and his work ethic.
Q. We love ‘Angel’ tell us a bit about that track?
‘Angel’ takes you on a self-discovery journey filled with self-love and self-worth, which everyone experiences through love and heartbreak. And with that comes the ability to embrace yourself and all that you are. For me it was embracing my blackness in its complete fullness.
