DistractTV meets:: JJ Rosa

Shoreditch is right up there when it’s comes to nights out in London. I was most fortunate to be given the pleasure of meeting  artist JJ Rosa before her show at Cargo on 11 December . JJ is so blessed this young lass is simply tearing up the underground scene.

A talented guitarist who could definitely mix it with some of the best who has picked up the instrument. A friend of mine made me giggle saying that JJ could be the love child Nile Rodgers and Prince Rodgers Nelson.

The future of pop JJ Rosa could well be. She has that quality to just relate and have a laugh which is a fine quality these days. JJ’s confidence never in doubt and her talent remarkable for one so young. R’n’b and rock and roll is in her soul. From Hendricks to Lauren Hill, JJ has been influenced but finds her own way with her unique sound.2011-topic-music-lauryn-hill

Now based in London but born in Stockport, JJ has a broad perspective of the music industry which will help her manoeuvre straight to the top.

Influential legends such as Fleetwood Mac icon, Christine McVie are singing the praises of JJ. It’s clear that doors are opening up for JJ as she opened up for Stevie Wonder at the London calling Festival.

‘The Tonight EP’ takes us on a journey where nostalgia meets modern day; gospel inspired harmonies and JJ’s seductive lead vocal make way for her empowering driven electric guitar licks, where occasionally a crisp funk riff might just take centre stage! Classic synth fills the gaps perfectly as what appears to be a common thread throughout all 4 songs on the EP, all then beautifully completed by the heavily groove centered hiphop/funk beats that act as a solid foundation throughout.
