Frieze London 2023 marked a significant milestone—celebrating two decades of shaping the contemporary art scene. The fair was a convergence of creative talent, influential collectors, and cultural icons. From Damien Hirst’s new floral series, which made waves by selling out on the first day, to Eddie Martinez’s immersive wall-to-wall sketch installation.
The atmosphere buzzed as VIPs like Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, and designer Raf Simons were spotted browsing the dynamic mix of booths. Tracey Emin and Yinka Shonibare added further prestige by engaging with collectors and curators, making Frieze London a who’s-who of the art world.

The event wasn’t just about the established stars either—emerging artists took centre stage, with cutting-edge presentations like Ayoung Kim’s Delivery Dancer’s Sphere making a bold statement about modern labour. British Ghanaian artist, Larry Achiampong, delved into whitewashing in computer gaming, through an interactive installation and vibrant, character-focused paintings.

Next year’s fair promises to build on the momentum of this anniversary, continuing its mission to showcase both established names and emerging talent. Expect an even more diverse international lineup, with galleries from across the globe bringing forward-thinking art to the heart of London. Frieze’s special projects, such as the immersive installations and artist collaborations that wowed this year, are set to return with even more ambitious ideas in 2024.
In addition, Frieze Sculpture will once again transform Regent’s Park into an open-air gallery, offering a public art experience that perfectly complements the indoor booths.
