Anya Taylor-Joy, the mesmerizing star known for her powerful performances in Furiosa: A Mad Max Story, The Menu, and Last Night in Soho, is set to captivate audiences once again in Netflix’s highly anticipated adaptation of Bella Mackie’s best-selling novel, How to Kill Your Family.

This electrifying eight-episode series, produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd—the creative powerhouse behind Killing Eve—will showcase Taylor-Joy as the fiercely vengeful Grace Bernard. Grace, abandoned by her millionaire father and left to witness her mother’s tragic demise, embarks on a chilling mission of retribution. With steely resolve, she plots to systematically eliminate each member of her father’s family, saving him for last in a gripping tale of revenge and survival.

Taylor-Joy’s return to Netflix follows her iconic portrayal of Beth Harmon in The Queen’s Gambit, a series that not only became a global sensation but also solidified her status as one of the most dynamic actresses of her generation. The Queen’s Gambit dominated the Netflix charts, securing a spot in the top 10 in 92 countries and claiming the No. 1 position in 63, including the U.K., Argentina, and South Africa. An astounding 62 million accounts tuned in within the first 28 days of its release, cementing the series as a cultural phenomenon.

With How to Kill Your Family, Taylor-Joy steps into the shoes of a character as complex as she is ruthless, promising a performance that will be both haunting and unforgettable. The series is brought to life by a stellar team, including lead writer Emma Moran, known for her work on Extraordinary, who also serves as executive producer alongside Sally Woodward Gentle, Lizzie Rusbridger, and Lee Morris for Sid Gentle Films. Taylor-Joy herself joins as an executive producer under her production banner, LadyKiller, adding yet another layer of depth to her involvement in this groundbreaking project.

Bella Mackie, the visionary author behind the gripping novel, serves as co-executive producer, ensuring the series remains true to its darkly comedic and suspenseful roots.

Taylor-Joy said: “As soon as I turned the last page, I knew I had to be a part of bringing this story to life. After some (light) stalking of the inimitable Bella Mackie, I could not be more thrilled to be collaborating with the team that is Sally, Lizzie and Emma. I am looking forward to getting our hands even dirtier.”

Mackie added: “It’s been thrilling to watch the characters I wrote take on new life under this magnificent creative team. Anya is the mostperfect fit to play Grace: I often think she understands her better than I do. Pairing up with Sid Gentle has been joyful, and introducing me to Emma has made me supremely confident the book is in safe hands.”

As the world awaits the release of How to Kill Your Family, one thing is certain: Anya Taylor-Joy is poised to deliver another tour de force performance, solidifying her reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the world of entertainment. This is a story of vengeance, justice, and the lengths one woman will go to reclaim control of her destiny—a narrative that promises to be as thrilling as it is thought-provoking.
