Bibhu Mohapatra’s AW20 collection is dedicated to the women who have helped to shape him into the man he is today. Pinjar (The Skeleton), is the work of novelist Amrita Pritam. In this story (one of the catalysts for Bibhu’s collection), Pritam personifies the strength of Indian women through her character, Puro; a young woman who escapes from abuse. The collection is bold, yet elegant and features pieces with intricate and delicate embroidery.
Bibhu also teamed up with Narayan Jewellers, a brand worn by many Indian celebrities such as Vidya Balan and Taapsee Pannu, as well as Hollywood celebrities like Dylan Penn and Lucy Watson. Watch our interview with Bibhu below:
